Lost Ark Pirate Coins Guide - How To Get Pirate Coins Fast

Before we begin, we should first explain what pirate coins are and how we can use them.

What Are Pirate Coins?

Pirate coins is another currency used in Lost Ark for specific things such as:
● Stronghold Activities
● Ship Upgrades
● Crew Upgrades
● Material Upgrades
● Unique Items
● Song of Resonance (Reveals hidden islands and areas for quests)
● Honing Materials

These items listed above are just the start. So, how do you get these Pirate Coins? What is the fastest way to farm them? We will show you exactly how to farm them and where to find them in this guide. So, let’s get into it.

How To Get Pirate Coins

So in the traditional sense of the word farming in MMORPGs, we’d expect to kill a bunch of mobs over and over again till we get the number of Lost Ark items we need; however, the Pirate Coins are a bit different. You cannot just kill mobs to gain pirate coins (at least not yet) but instead will have to get them through other means. Below we will show you how.

Procyon’s Compass events

Procyon’s Compass events are special events that require you to go out of your way to defeat field bosses, ghost ships, demons, and chaos gates. They may seem annoying to have to travel so far, but they are worth it. These events can grant quite a few Pirate coins and precious materials for upgrades.

Quests

Once you have reached level 50 (If you want a speed leveling guide, we have it posted here.) - this is important as you cannot get the quests otherwise - you can start to venture various islands to receive quests. These quests are relatively quick and straightforward to complete; once completed, you will receive Pirate Coins or High Seas Coin Chests (Don’t use them when you get them, we will go over these chests in a min). Here is a list of quests you can receive and what islands to find them on:

● Giant Mushroom Island – 2000 Pirate Coins
● Peyto and Glacier Isle – 5000 Pirate Coins
● Runaways Island – 5000 Pirate Coins
● Sublime Island – 6000 Pirate Coins
● Golden Wave Island – 7000 Pirate Coins
● Kalthertz – 8600 Pirate Coins
● Cradle of the Sea Fermata – 9000 Pirate Coins
● Atropos – 10,000 Pirate Coins
● Blackfang’s Den – 10,000 Pirate Coins
● Freedom Isle – 15,000 Pirate Coins
● Lullaby Island – 16,500 Pirate Coins

It is fair to mention that certain islands will give more Pirate Coins; however, due to the nature of the game, you will more than likely come across the small islands first. However, don’t skip the smaller island quests, as these quests are not dailies and will accrue a maximum amount of Pirate Coins if you complete them.

Events and Exchange Rates

Events in any MMORPG are great ways to join a timed occurrence; Lost Ark is no different. Always check the map; these events occur at random and are sometimes scheduled and will provide you with some of the best ways to get coins fast. These events are called Naval Events, and the best one you can look out for is the “Ghost Ships” (Only completable once a week) as you can receive plentiful voyager coins, which, when exchanged, can give you Pirate coins. Speaking of exchanging, let's go over the exchange rates between the various coins, so you know which ones to look out for:

● Guiena’s Coin = 10 Pirate Coins
● Krater’s Coin = 12 Pirate Coins
● Coin of Arcturth = 15 Pirate Coins
● Ancient Coins = 17 Pirate Coins
● Solar Coin = 20 Pirate Coins

High Seas Coin Chests

As we mentioned before, these High Seas Coin Chests can sometimes be a reward for quest completion on the various islands mentioned above. These chests may also be required through Naval Events. These chests are some of the best ways to get Pirate coins, and if you follow our exchange rate list above, you will see that Solar Coins are the best to exchange. Well, it’s all good, and well, you’ve saved over 50 of these chests; where do you do the exchange?

You can exchange these boxes at any Merchant Vessel outside any harbor or island (random spawn chance). If the Merchant isn’t there, you can always check another at a later stage; they are pretty common to come across. Once you’ve found them, simply trade and exchange your High Seas Coin Chests for Solar Coins to make maximum profit.

What Should You Buy?

These pirate coins were tricky to get, so we understand that spending them on the right items is a top priority. We made a list earlier on what you can buy with these items, but we highly recommend buying the Song of Resonance (Costs 16 500 Pirate Coins). The song of Resonance is one of the most sought-after items in the entire game and is almost the sole reason why players farm Pirate Coins. Once you have obtained 16 500 Pirate coins, you can visit Treasure Hunter Igran in Peyto and purchase the Song of Resonance. We also recommend buying any ship upgrades as early as possible as they will help you navigate the oceans and get to Naval Events faster with higher success rates. Not only will the crew upgrades improve your success rates for events, but a lot of content in Lost Ark is based around the ocean and navigating that with an improved ship always makes for more accessible and stress-free gameplay.
